Brindisi to Corfu 38th – Yacht Race

The 2024 edition of one of the Adriatic super-classics, the Brindisi-Corfu, the classic medium-length offshore race, now in its 38th year, which gathers hundreds of enthusiasts each year, goes into the archives. The secret of this regatta and its appeal lies in the course, which is averagely windy, with a nice offshore section, but with a difficulty coefficient and length affordable even by crews with little experience.

The 2024 edition was marked by medium-light winds along the course, which nevertheless ensured a fairly fast edition. The first live-aboard boat to cross the finish line in Corfu was Claudio De Martis’ maxi Prosecco DOC Shockwave, which achieved a double result: line honors and victory also in ORC plywood of the Overall classification. In second place overall ORC is GS45 Xeic, owned by Spanish owner Joaquin Barenys, third place for Michail Satsopoulos’ Greek Rush.

The X2 classification, on the other hand, was won by Repulo Alfoldi’s Comet 45 Daddy Cool, while in Grand Cruiser Xeic, also second in the overall ORC, won. Among the multihulls, present in good numbers with 10 competitors, victory went to White Whales from Campania della Vela Roma.
