A great place to start your yacht charter is Punta Ala or Scarlino on the west coast of Italy, perfectly placed so you can explore the enchanting Tuscan islands. This is a popular sailing destination and Elba, the largest and most enchanting island in the archipelago, has an indented coastline sheltering plenty of attractive harbours and anchorages.
Elba was once home to the exiled Napoleon. Other glorious islands of the Tuscan archipelago, include Gorgona, Capraia, Montecristo, Giglio and Giannutri, all dramatic islands rising steeply from the sea.
The islands form convenient stepping stones between the Tuscan coastline and Corsica, this gives you the chance to combine the flavours of Italy and France on your sailing holiday. Why not explore the east coast of Corsica before heading back to the islands or Tuscan mainland.
